The Freshwater Elementary School District), headquartered in Freshwater, California, oversees public education, through grade 8, in a portion of west central Humboldt County, California.[1] The school it operates is the Freshwater School in Freshwater.[2] The original school was a one-room schoolhouse.[2] In the 1920s, a two-room brick and mortar school was built.[2] A new school was built in 1952 and has been renovated and expanded several times since.[2]
